Swartberg Wingerde Miracle Bush White Blend 2021

R299.00

Winemakers Notes:  The Miracle Bush White is a blend of 90% Chenin Blanc and 10% Palomino. The Piekenierskloof must grow the oldest and most exquisite Palomino vineyards in South Africa. This Palomino vineyard was planted in 1965. With its inherently low acid content the grapes can be picked at a low calling to make a fresh wine with an intense floral aroma and a ‘salty’ finish. The Chenin blanc vineyard was planted in the winter of 2003 in a snow covered Piekenierskloof. Chenin Blanc is the perfect blending partner to the Palomino with its firm acidity and mineral core, adding focus, structure, and linearity to the blend. These vineyards are all dry land farmed bush vines. Hand-Picked, the grapes are chilled over night in a cold room. All the grapes are all whole bunch pressed and lightly settled over night before spontaneous fermentation sets in. The Chenin Blanc is fermented and matured for 9 months in seasoned 225 L Mittelberger oak Barriques and clay amphora, whereas the Palomino in 2500L Foudre. – Rudiger Gretschel

This white blend shows floral, spicey with white peach aromas. Coated texture, but not creamy. A pure and clean expression of Piekenierskloof with a long inviting and slightly saline finish. The perfect combination of fruit flavours, textured mouthfeel and saline finish. It’s not miracle that we just love it.
