The Jade Red is a blend of 72% Syrah, 20% Petite Sirah, 7% Cinsault and 1% Grenache Noir. The Syrah and Petite Sirah are from Debos Vineyards, and the Cinsault and Grenache Noir are from Swartland.
The nose shows thyme and lavender aromas with a spicy, savoury palate. Vibrant acidity and a red fruit core bring a refreshing length and finish on the palate.
Fruit is handpicked, hand-sorted and destemmed into open top fermenters. Aided by gentle pump overs, fermentation is spontaneous and completes within 3 weeks. After 9 months maturation in older 225L French oak barrels, the two components are blended together and bottled.
ANALYSIS: ALC 12.5% | RS 1.8 g/l | TA 5.5 g/l | pH 3.59
Petite Sirah is also known as Durif, and it’s important to note that it is a cross between Syrah and Peloursin. It usually has high tannins and acidity with lots of pepper and spice flavours. Not often bottled on its own, but a great blending partner. Just don’t confuse it with Syrah.

Natasha Williams is a dynamic young winemaker from the small town of Saron in the Western Cape. From a young age she felt an affinity for science and nature – making wine a natural study choice. She graduated from Stellenbosch University with a degree in Oenology, and after completing a 6 month internship at Jordan Winery, joined the Bosman Family Vineyards winemaking team in late 2014. After spending time abroad, completing a harvest in California and travelling through France, Natasha was inspired to start her own label: Lelie van Saron. Natasha’s approach to winemaking is simple: make wine with a pure expression of the terroir and grape variety, using natural methods. The result is elegant, honest wines from cool climate sites.
Eponymous to the gemstone, the Jade range reflects Natasha Williams’ winemaking in philosophy to produce elegant and honest wines.
