Lafazanis Winery Geometria Moschofilero 2022

R302.00

Moschofilero is a dry white wine from the classification PGI Peloponnese. These vineyards grow at an altitude of 450m in the Mantinia region.

After a few hours of cold soaking, the wine went through cool fermentation in tank. Extended lees contact for a few months gives the wine a beautifully rounded, slightly creamy mouthfeel. The grapes are pink skinned, resulting in a very slight copper note in the wine.

It is a variety that was new to us till we tasted it recently and was rather impressed. It shows interesting, aromatic layers of citrus, chamomile and tropical nuances with a creamy and ever-so-slightly spicy mouthfeel. It is well-rounded with a persistent long finish. At 11.5% ABV it is sure to please any occasion any day.

Description

The Lafazanis winery is located in the Nemea, Greece’s largest winegrowing region and production center of the highly acclaimed PDO Nemea wines. The main production on this farm is Agiorgitiko, a red variety that can produce perfumed light wines, but often is made in a more serious, riper and oaked style.

The winery owns its own vineyards, but also sources grapes from other growers, giving them a large canvas of varieties and terroirs to work with.
