Chenin blanc 64%, Sauvignon blanc 29%, Riesling 7%
Cool climate Chenin Blanc, with its delicately perfumed fruit expression forms the backbone. Sancerre-styled Sauvignon Blanc adds flinty minerality and structure. A small component of Riesling ties the blend together contributing its typical varietal opulence, waxy mouthfeel and bracing acidity. Yellow fruit, citrus, beeswax, ginger and fennel spice with a hint of resinous floral notes are seamlessly interwoven. Delivered on a multi-layered, concentrated palate with a well measured acidity and saline finish that lingers on the palate. Will gain additional complexity over the next 10 years.

A successful craft beer business, started by friends, inevitably lead to some delicious wine.
In 2011 Dan Badenhorst, the Dr, and entrepreneur friend Russell Boltman started Devil’s Peak Beer Co. They secured the expertise of JC Steyn, who was at the time making wine, to become their brewer. The three gents of course share the love for good wine, fast forward to 2023 and the search for grapes and winemakers to collaborate with kicked off.
The maiden release of Dr Good Vine is from the 2023 harvest with Pinot Noir and a White Blend from Elgin, and a Syrah with fruit from Polkadraai and Ceres Plateau.
