Fermented with native yeasts and 100% malolactic fermentation in old 300 litre oak barrels. It is tight, focused,with good minerality. It gradually reveals itself, offering nuanced aromas of white peach, dried herbs, fynbos, lime zest, crisp pear, and intensely smoky, crushed granite. On the palate, it reflects the same lean, linear structure, creating an impression of tightly wound energy, with vibrant acidity, a saline tang, and a wet stone minerality, showing immense complexity and depth.

Description
The “Sky” vineyard is named for its elevation of nearly 400 meters. Located on the exposed crest of a slope in the Paardeberg mountains, it offers stunning views over the Swartland. This high-altitude site produces a wine that is more focused and linear than other Chenin Blancs, but its extreme location also leaves the vines more vulnerable to the elements. In 2022, the vineyard was severely affected by heatwaves and strong winds, which scorched the leaves of half the vines. As a result, the crop was significantly reduced, and the remaining grapes were harvested early to help the vines recover. Despite these challenging conditions, the Sky vineyard still yielded a wine of exceptional quality. Planted in 1998, the vineyard consists of dry-farmed bush vines on granite and decomposed granite soil.
