This flagship Pinot Noir pays homage to the fynbos-clad slopes of Galpin Peak, which dominates the eastern skyline of the Hemel-en-Aarde valley.
A wine that is well suited for longevity and is firm and resonating with anticipation, its flavour profile slowly unfolding where a little patience will offer a generous palate of fruits of the forest flavours; whiffs of truffles and the development of complex cherry and dark berry tones. It’s a full wine with soft tannins and multitudes of rich flavour, displaying black plums, tart cherries and spice – enjoy it with poultry, fish, game birds and red meat dishes.
ANALYSIS: Alcohol 14.14 vol% | Acidity 5.4 g/l | Residual Sugar 2.3 g/l | pH 3.47

Bouchard Finlayson is both a family affair, and a place of collaboration.
A labour of love that sees the marriage of Old World winemaking heritage with New World innovation.
The estate was established in South Africa’s Hemel-en-Aarde valley in 1989, a groundbreaking partnership between acclaimed Burgundian winemaker Paul Bouchard and trailblazing local winemaker Peter Finlayson. With a shared passion for Pinot Noir, they transformed the valley’s virgin soil into vineyard, and laid the foundations for the cellar of Bouchard Finlayson. In 2000 the Tollman family purchased the estate, realising a long-held dream to own a vineyard in Africa.
