Around the world, limestone is regarded to have a special symbiosis with Chardonnay. It’s all about the chemistry. The high pH, calcareous soils chemically stress the plant impacting the potassium levels. The vine then naturally balances this out by producing low pH grapes. These low pH grapes produce wines with lively natural acidity, freshness, minerality and length. Baleia Chardonnay (grown in almost pure white limestone) tests the theory to the max.
Corlien’s note: Beautiful fruit concentration of tangerine and white peach with green curry leaf shining through. Acidity and minerality dance in perfect unison with a full mouthfeel, yet tight lime grip on the finish. This wine will definitely reward the patience.
Out of stock
Complex layers of citrus and white stone fruit, and a textured mouthfeel. Serve well chilled with shellfish. There is also an aromatic perfume and hint of spice in this wine that will complement curry dishes.
