Join us and wine maker David Nieuwoudt for a tasting of wines that are as youthful and promising as South Africa’s youth.
David is best known as owner and winemaker of the high-altitude Cederberg Private Cellar, near Clanwilliam. He is also the man behind the Ghost Corner range of wines from Elim which is near the southernmost tip of Africa.
And then there is Longavi from Chile. The Longavi wine range is a collaboration between Chilean producer Julio Bouchon and David. Julio, a descendent of a French wine pioneer who settled in Chile in 1892 is the producer and David the winemaker.
We can comfortably call all three these wine regions “cooler climate” areas. Cederberg has the high altitude of 1036m in its favour, Elim receives the cool coastal breezes and mist from the two oceans and Longavi have a combination of cool air from the Pacific Ocean and from the snow-capped Andes mountain.
Join us on a journey with David through a selection of wines from all 3 properties, carefully paired with food by Phillipa Hauptfleisch.
We’ll start with Cederberg MCC at 11am and move on to a 6-course pairing menu. The price includes 13 wines and the accompanying food pairings.
