In 2015, Les Jamet acquired a vineyard plot in Condrieu, giving rise to the cuvée “Vernillon” made from Viognier grapes grown on granite soils in Vernon and Côte Chatillon.
Powerful nose of apricot, peach, white flowers and citrus. Unctuous mouth offering a lot of complexity; the persistence in the mouth is impressive and the finish is more tense and mineral.
Condrieu from Jamet showcases the typical characteristics of the appellation, including lily, fresh peach, and rose aromas. However, it also offers a unique twist with a racy mineral and spicy touch. On the palate, the wine exhibits excellent balance and acidity, which beautifully counterbalances its rich and savory texture. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentation for this wine takes place partially in barrels and partially in vats. This combination of fermentation vessels allows for a diverse range of flavors and characteristics to develop in the wine. The wine is aged 50% in oak barrels and 50% in stainless steel vats, further enhancing its complexity.

Jean-Paul Jamet began making wine alongside his father Joseph in 1976. He left school to start working with his parents in the family business. Together they developed the vine-growing and wine-making work but Jean-Paul quickly took the initiative and made decisions. With the experience of making forty wines he was convinced that the beauty of the wines lay in the terroirs. Having been away from any successive methods he promoted the different expressions of Côte Rôtie to increase their complementary features.
