Survivor wines was founded in 2006 by Gerhard van der Wath who made a clever descision to place the heart of the busines within easy access to Stellenbosch, Swartland and the Elgin valley. This way the farm could form strong and meaningful relationships with great growers and fantastic sites in some of the best wine growing regions in the Cape. Pierre Wahl is the well respected Cellar Master and has earned the nick name the ‘Pope of Pinotage’ due to his esteemed stance with this grape variety, however his skills are vast and he is also a member the Cape Winemakers Guild and also received the Cape Winemaker of the Year award from Diners Club in 2016. For Pierre and his team the priority is always quality as well as creating wines that have a sense of place and are quintessentially South African.
