Trizanne Benede-Duivenhoksrivier Chardonnay 2023

R445.00

Grapes were sourced from the incredible ward of Lower Duivenshokriver – situated between Riversdale, Vermaaklikheid and Heidelberg – within the Cape South Coast region. Limestone soils, cool ripening temperatures and only 10km from the ocean creates a beautiful, mineral Chardonnay. The grapes were harvested in the first week of February, partly wholebunch pressed and partly crushed, fermented naturally in partly new, 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels. A point of difference in this wine is that it didn’t go through malolactic fermentation – ensuring the beautiful natural acidity present in the wine. Bottled after 10 months in oak.

A superbly elegant Chardonnay layered with citrus and apple notes and a steely minerality, creating that perfect tension in the wine. Beautifully balanced natural acidity gives this wine ample longevity and punch. Delicate yet gravitas. A wine that evolves slowly yet elegantly over time in the bottle.
